Welcome to the Garden of Old Bones
We are going excavating. Digging up the bones. Dusting off the dirt. We move and gather deeply, sacredly, tenderly, lovingly. Here lies our safe space, encircled with energetic caution tape around the sacred borders. Our vast, universal, spiraling, spinning borders. Naysayers need not apply. Broken bones welcome. Rigid bones, prepare to soften. With spines stretched and heads bowed, we will dance in the garden of old bones. Together.
Welcome to the Garden of Old Bones!
The Garden of Old Bones is a community for celebrating the third trimester of life and beyond.
The Garden of Old Bones is a place for sharing the abundant wisdom we have garnered through lives rife with ‘all the things’; for celebrating our passages and our journeys; for exploring aging as a privilege while also honoring our challenges with compassion and self-love.
The Garden of Old Bones celebrates conscious aging - a way of life that combines mindfulness with presence, joy with service, wisdom with support, the spiritual with the mundane. We are not elderly. We are Elders.
We discuss things that are inappropriate, that other people avoid. We laugh and we cry. And we celebrate what we know and what we don’t know. We are committed to exploration, wonder, gratitude, artful expression, self-exploration, finding new opportunities for learning, the magic of intention, choosing joy while acknowledging whatever hardships are at play in our lives, and learning to trust the internal guidance system of our own hearts.
We are gardeners.
As such, we honor and tend to our roots.
We know that there is always new life brimming just below the surface.
We water the dirt that holds our dreams.
We do what needs to be done
Sometimes we plant; sometimes we prune.
Sometimes we weed; sometimes we feed.
We’re open to the gifts we didn’t plan for.
We bloom.
We release our seeds.
And we begin again.
We invite you to join us.
